Booked a 5 nights stay from Expedia site. Hotel was rated 3 stars. Arrived on island on May 13th. Checked into hotel and it was unliveable. Checked out the next day after complaining to the hotel manager with no resolution. Wrote a letter in July to Expedia explaining the situation and requesting a refund for the unused nights (pictures and supporting documents attached). Have not received acknowledgement of letter or refund. Wrote another letter in Sept. directed to the CEO. Still no response or refund. Ready to go the media for resolution. Very unprofessional for a company of this size.

Writing letters won't get you anywhere, especially with online booking agencies like Expedia, priceline, hotels.com, hotwire, ect.

Once they have your money, they will fight tooth and nail to keep it.

The only way to get ANY of it back, is to be constantly on the phone with them.

You have to make yourself a big enough nuisance that they give you some of your money back, and SOME of your money is probably the best you can hope for.

Always book directly with the hotel.
